[TN_VirgoA.jpg] Points to remember: Jupiter or Guru is in
your 8th House since May 8, 2011 and Saturn will occupy 2nd House
from Nov 14th 2011.
Saturn or Shani dev will move from the 1st House (2nd leg of Sade
Sati) to the last leg or the 2nd house in your natal chart. 2nd
House is the House of Value and represents material and
immaterial things of certain value. Money. Belongings, property,
acquisitions. Cultivation and growth. Substance. Self-Worth.

You are in the last leg of 2.5 years of Sade Sati period. In the
2nd place, you will still undergo hardships but in a
milder tone. There will be financial losses. The ventures which
you conceived as great prospects will push you down into the
dark room, where you will not find as easy way out. There will
be struggle in business and profession.

Ashta Guru (Guru in 8th place) which is your Ayu Sthan is not
good especially for your health. Medical expenses will mount.
Life is at risk for few. Relationship will take a beating.
Better be insured as early as possible. Medical expenses
mount heavily.

Advise: Proceed cautiously and keep a low-key. Do not get over
aggravated on any emotional or financial matter. Times will
change as they do not remain the same always.

Here are some key points to be noted for you during the Saturn
transit:

* Saturn in the second house from your Moon sign generally
denotes a difficult time.
* Objectives may be hard to achieve or may not produce
the desired results. Proceed cautiously at work, as this may not
be a favorable time for you.
* Financially, this is not a good period. Limit your expenses
as much as possible. Income may come from several sources, but
you may find it hard to hang on to.
* Avoid disputes relating to property owned by your parents as
this may cause unhappiness or damage to your pride.
* During this time, you may get involved in unnecessary
quarrels and may create new enemies, sometimes within your own
family.
* Be careful of harming others and beware of criminal
tendencies.
* Avoid troubling your spouse with trivial issues.
* Take care of your children as they might also be at risk.
* Protect your health as you may lose your vitality and feel
lack luster and weak. Even a little hard work may tire you.
* Pay attention your appearance as this may also suffer.
* Travel to a foreign land is possible during this time or you
may move around without purpose.

Pls note: These are broad outlines. The holy scriptures have
mentioned these as the outcome of the transit.
!! Jai Shree Krishna !!

<rte.php> <rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
What the epics say - 'Akalbodhan'
The worship of Devi Durga in the month of Ashwin is called
'Akalbodhan'- an uncustomary time for commencement of the
worship. It is so called since the period of this worship differs
from the conventional period (during the spring - 'Basanta').
Ramayana says that when Rama was engaged in the fierce battle
with Ravana, he wanted to secure the blessings of victory from
Devi Durga. He held the puja to evoke the goddess during autumn
to his dire plight, thereby worshiping Durga untimely (in Akal).
Hence this puja is called Akalbodhon.

<rte.php> <rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
It was customary to worship Durga with 100 neel kamals (blue
lotuses). Rama could gather only 99 of them; he offered one of
his eyes as a substitute of the 100th lotus. Pleased with his
devotion Durga blessed him. The battle started on Shaptami and
Ravana was killed at the Shandhikshan (in between) Ashtami and
Navami; he was cremated on Dashami. Therefore the four days of
the puja that we celebrate ends in the triumph of the good over
evil.

<rte.php> <rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
<rte.php> About Goddess Durga
<rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
<rte.php> Durga, in Sanskrit means "She who is
incomprehensible or difficult to reach." Goddess Durga is a form
of Sakti worshiped for her gracious as well as terrifying aspect.
Mother of the Universe, she represents the infinite power of the
universe and is a symbol of a female dynamism. The manifestation
of Goddess Durga is said to emerge from Her formless essence and
the two are inseparable.

<rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
She is also called by many other names, such as Parvati, Ambika,
and Kali. In the form of Parvati, She is known as the divine
spouse of Lord Shiva and is the mother of Her two sons, Ganesha
and Karttikeya, and daughter Jyoti. Destroyer of demons, she is
worshiped during an annual festival called Durga puja, especially
popular among Bengalis.

<rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
Her Appearance

<rte.php> <rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
There are endless aspects of Durga described in the Puranas and
Agamas and the iconography is consequently very varied. She is
usually pictured as having ten arms holding Sword, Conch, Discus,
Rosary, Bell, Winecup, Shielf, Bow, Arrow, and Spear. She is most
often shown riding a lion from which comes Her august name,
Simhavahini, "She who stands astride the king of beasts". She is
gorgeously dressed in royal red cloth and has several ornaments
decorating Her personage. Her hair is dressed up in a crown
(karandamukuta) which then flows out in long luxuriant tresses
that are darkly luminous and soothing to the eye. The various
tools reflects the eminent supremacy that helps in controling the
universe and obey Her will.
<rte.php> <http://mumbaihungama.com/rnd.php>
<rte.php> Weilding Energy

<rte.php> Goddess Durga exists eternally, always abiding in her
own sweet nature and inhabits the hearts and minds of her
ecstatic devotees. As Shakti power, she shapes, nurtures, and
dissolves names and forms, while as subtle spiritual energy
called Kundalini, She lights the lotuses fo the seven centres of
awareness in the sacred human body. Goddess Durga killed the
powerful demon Mahish and all his great commanders. When demonic
forces create imbalance all god unite becoming one divine force
called Shakti or Durga.

Because the Arctic and Antarctic are cold, dark, and
remote, we often think these two places are nearly the
same. However, they are quite different. One notable difference
is that polar bears live only in the Arctic, and penguins live
only in the Antarctic.

An emperor penguin chick is captured in perfect clarity as it
jumps off an ice block... or perhaps it was pushed by its
cheeky little friends.

This is just one of a set of stunning images from the life's work
of award-winning wildlife photographer Sue Flood.

She has spent more than 20 year pursuing of the best wildlife
shots - but says the polar regions of the Arctic and
Antarctic remain her most special places.

And perhaps the fact that her husband, fellow freelance wildlife
photographer Doug Allan, proposed while they were adrift on an
Arctic ice floe has also added to the memories.

The pair travel the world for their wildlife work and Flood has
worked on top BBC Nature programmes including Planet Earth and
Blue Planet.

She has now put together some of her favourite images in a
book.

Miss Flood said 'There are times when I question why I'm so
drawn to the Poles - for instance, when camping in -40 degree
temperatures, enduring the hardships of macho ice-breaker life or
when my eyes won't open because my eyelashes have frozen
together.

'But there is something magical about the light, the isolation
and the stillness, and something inspirational about how
resolute animals and people have to be to survive there.

'Yes, the Poles are cold places but they also warm the heart, as
I hope my book and images show.'

and meltwater

[FunFunky.Com] Good things come to those who wait: A polar bear
waits near a seal hole at the foot of a glacier in Franz Josef
Land, the Russian Arctic

Miss Flood said the book, Cold Places, was 'a record of
some of the most spectacular places and memorable animals
of the polar regions'.

'I fell in love with the Canadian Arctic on my first BBC
filming trip there in 1998 and have since enjoyed more than 30
trips to the polar regions working on documentaries and
feature films, guiding private individuals and on
expedition ships voyaging to the North Pole and south to
the Antarctic Peninsula, Ross and Weddell Seas and
sub-Antarctic islands.' Ive had some great adventures in the
polar regions, including camping on the floe edge with
Inuit hunters in the Canadian high-Arctic, watching polar
bears hunting, diving with leopard seals in the Antarctic,
working on Russian icebreakers and sailing across the
Drake Passage on a very small yacht.

'Im passionate about what I do, and I hope that this
comes across in my images so that people will be inspired
to want to protect the wildlife and ecosystems Ive been
fortunate enough to photograph.'

She was rescued when she was seven-months-old and brought to the
Friends of the Asian Elephant hospital where she became the
first elephant in the world to be fitted with an artificial leg
in 2007.

Now aged five, Mosha is growing at such a rate she has now been
fitted with a second prosthetic leg.

Her home in the tropical jungle of northern Thailand, near the
Cambodian border, is an orphanage for elephants.

Stumbling around on three limbs at the world's first elephant
hospital, she refused to mix with other elephants and shunned
food.

Mosha shows off her right stump in 2006 (L) after she arrives at
the FAE Elephant Hospital in Thailand

Doctors had feared the worst until she had a chance meeting with
Dr. Therdchai Jivacate, who runs a foundation for human
amputees.

Jivacate knew that Mosha would not survive as she grew heavier
with age.

"When she cannot walk, she is going to die," he said.

Jivacate's foundation has made prosthetic limbs for over 16,000
humans. But it had never fitted an elephant until Mosha caught
Jivacate's eye.

Fashioned out of plastic, sawdust and metal, doctors at his
Prostheses Foundation successfully fitted an artificial leg for
Mosha sturdy enough to carry her weight.

One of many patients treated at the unique 1m animal
hospital, with fellow elephants suffering infections, broken
bones and knife wounds, Mosha soon became the most famous.

Almost a year after her operation, Mosha used to eat 200 pounds
of food a day and was growing so fast that doctors fitted her
with a second, larger prosthesis.

After her daily exercises, Mosha takes a nap. The prosthesis is
only removed when she sleeps.

Things You Probably Didnt Know About the Worlds
Largest Bird

[ostrich head closeup 610x406 10 Things You Probably Didnt
Know About the Worlds Largest Bird]

Who knew the Ostrich was such a notable record-holder in the
Animal Kingdom? Not only is it the worlds largest bird; it
also lays the largest eggs [of any bird] and is the fastest
two-legged animal on land (sorry Usain Bolt)! Here are 10 things
you might not have known about this fascinating bird. Behold! The
Ostrich in all of its flightless glory!

[separator 610x1 10 Things You Probably Didnt Know About
the Worlds Largest Bird]

[ostrich 610x710 10 Things You Probably Didnt Know About
the Worlds Largest Bird]

The Ostrich is the largest living species of bird in the world,
typically weighing 140 290 lbs (63.5-131.5 kg) and
measuring 6 9 ft (1.8-2.7 meters) in height.

[separator 610x1 10 Things You Probably Didnt Know About
the Worlds Largest Bird]

[ostrich from behind 610x457 10 Things You Probably Didnt
Know About the Worlds Largest Bird]

Ostriches can run at maximum speeds of about 97.5 km/h (60.6
mph), making it both the fastest bird on land and the fastest
two-legged animal in the world.

[separator 610x1 10 Things You Probably Didnt Know About
the Worlds Largest Bird]

[ostrich head in ground is a myth 610x457 10 Things You
Probably Didnt Know About the Worlds Largest Bird]

Contrary to popular belief, Ostriches do not bury their heads in
sand. This myth likely began with Pliny the Elder (AD 23-79), who
wrote that Ostriches: imagine, when they have thrust their
head and neck into a bush, that the whole of their body is
concealed.

[separator 610x1 10 Things You Probably Didnt Know About
the Worlds Largest Bird]

[size of an ostrich egg in hand 610x457 10 Things You Probably
Didnt Know About the Worlds Largest Bird]

Ostrich eggs are the largest of all bird eggs (and by extension
the yolk is the largest single cell), though they are actually
the smallest eggs relative to the size of the adult bird. On
average they are 15 centimetres (5.9 in) long, 13 centimetres
(5.1 in) wide, and weigh 1.4 kilograms (3.1 lb).

[separator 610x1 10 Things You Probably Didnt Know About
the Worlds Largest Bird]

[cooking ostrich scrambled eggs 610x436 10 Things You Probably
Didnt Know About the Worlds Largest Bird]

One scrambled ostrich egg equals about 25 chicken eggs |

The Ostrich has just two toes on each foot (most birds have
four), with the nail on the larger, inner toe resembling a hoof.
The outer toe has no nail, and the reduced number of toes is an
adaptation that appears to aid in running.
